The death of President John Atta Mills in Ghana has sparked a profound grief and doubts about the future of the country. Next December’s parliamentary and presidential elections will be a crossroad after two decades of progress in Ghana. In 1992 a constitutional referendum put an end to 26 years of military rule and started an era of democracy.

Since the early 90´s , Ghana has come to be regarded as an example of positive development in Africa.
