Terrorist Northern Mali is a “concern” for Algeria.

Minister of Interior Daho Ould Kablia

Minister of Interior of Algeria, Mr. Daho Ould Kablia said Saturday in Algiers that the passivity in northern Mali against terrorists on its soil was “of concern” for Algeria.

Minister Ould Kablia said to Channel I of national radio, that Algeria “deplores” the separation between the northern and southern Mali, adding that “the activities of terrorist elements and organized crime groups in the North is a source of concern as it does not try to deal with it.”

He referred in this regard, the kidnapping of the Consul of Algeria in Gao (Northern Mali, now in the hands of al qaeda simpatizers and members of the Ansar al Din militia , led by Iyad ag Ghali ) and six employees in early April, stressing that negotiations for their release imposed “discretion” and that the issue was the “prerogative of foreign minister and military officials on the border.”
